This collection of slides represents the history of early children’s literature in the United States. They are primarily covers and illustrations of children’s books between the 15th and early 20th century.
This collection of slides contains portraits of prominent American and international figures who made major contributions to the library world in areas such as cataloging, collection development, children’s librarianship, public access, library statistics, library studies, publishing, and philanthropy..
This collection contains a wide assortment of posters promoting books, libraries, and children's literacy from a variety of organizations including the American Library Association and the Children's Book Council. The CBC is a nonprofit conglomeration of publishers specializing in books for children and young adults and is the main supporter of the National Children's Book Week, the longest-running literacy program in the country, and the focus of a number of images in this collection.
