The University of Wisconsin-Madison Libraries has embarked upon a project to digitize The Daily Cardinal. Founded in 1892, The Daily Cardinal is one of the oldest continuously published student newspapers in the United States, and it is a priceless resource for UW-Madison history.
Once complete, the digitized issues will be available freely online. The searchable digital collection of The Daily Cardinal will be an important informational and scholarly resource for students, alumni, and other researchers. The collection will build upon already completed digital projects, including the Badger yearbooks and the UW Alumni Association magazine.
We hope you’ll consider making a donation to support this important project.
Join the effort! Benefits Include:
- Preserving UW-Madison history and the accomplishments of generations of students.
- Promoting academic and educational access to an important historical resource.
- Supporting genealogical research on alumni and UW faculty.
- Sharing the story of UW-Madison’s long history of journalistic excellence.
